Turkey tips

You can get tips and recipes on grilling turkey from the Dial-a-Chef Grilling Hotline, sponsored by Shady Brook Farms, a turkey producer in Harrisonburg, Va. The toll-free hot line (888-723-4468) offers recorded grilling guidance from five renowned chefs around the clock until Sept. 1.

Oyster cook-off

Do you have a fabulous oyster recipe? If so, you may be awarded $1,000 in the National Oyster Cook-off on Oct. 21 in Leonardtown sponsored by the Maryland Department of Agriculture's Seafood Marketing Program, St. Mary's County Department of Economic and Community Development and the Rotary Club of St. Mary's.
