Yankees update

The Yankees, with Arundel High graduate Denny Neagle joining their rotation, lead the AL East by one game over the Boston Red Sox. The Orioles won't see Neagle, who pitched yesterday. They also might not see outfielder Rondell White, who remains with the Montreal Expos while the Yankees try to work out a deal. They will, however, see outfielder Glenallen Hill, acquired from the Chicago Cubs on Friday for pitchers Ben Ford and Ozwaldo Mairena. The Yankees' bullpen has the lowest ERA in the majors at 3.63. Their relievers have given up only 17 homers, the fewest in the majors. Shortstop Derek Jeter has hit safely in 11 straight games and is batting .370 (81-for-219) since coming off the disabled list on May 27. David Justice, another of the new additions, is batting .432 (16-for-37) with four homers and 12 RBIs in his last 11 games.
