Center offering career workshops and programs

The Carroll County Business & Employment Resource Center is offering workshops and programs to help individuals who may be seeking a job or looking for a new career.

Programs include:

Money Management Workshop: Learn to avoid money management pitfalls, live on less and plan for the future. The program is from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 1.

Do You Need To Practice Interviewing?: Come prepared to interview and be evaluated by a staff member. The program is from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 3.

Time Management: Learn to strike a balance in life, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 3.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator: The psychological personality styles assessment test must be taken before the workshop to explain the results. The workshop is from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 9.

Carroll cable TV ad service gets new owner

Carroll County's cable television advertising service, PrestigeVision in Westminster, has a new owner, Adelphia Media Services.

Adelphia says it is dedicated to serving its advertisers with products and services that stretch advertising dollars and increase business.

Companies can advertise on the cable channels to target their market.

Long & Foster employee finishes training program

Robert F. Coursey of Long & Foster Real Estate's Westminster office recently completed the company's Fast Start program.

Fast Start is an extensive training program that includes 90 hours of instruction in real estate law, ethics, sales and contracts, negotiating, finance and marketing.

Westminster Town Mall hires marketing director

The Town Mall of Westminster has hired Peggy Funk as the new marketing director.

She will be responsible for all marketing, advertising, public relations and promotions for the mall.

Previously, Funk was marketing director for the Trammel Crow Co. at Hunt Valley Mall.

Before that, she was group sales and rental manager at the Baltimore Zoo.

In 1998, she was named in the "Who's Who in Hospitality and Tourism in Maryland."

Funk also is on the board of directors of the Baltimore County Conference and Visitor's Center. She lives in White Hall.
