Review: Ortega's newest salsas are a little too heavy on tomato puree to be truly considered freshly made. On the plus side, the salsas brim with chunks of tomato, peppers and other vegetables. The Mexican Style was a mild and flavorful blend of tomato, corn, black beans, peppers and onion - a sort of Mexican corn salad you could almost enjoy straight from the jar. Unfortunately, the 3 Bell Pepper version - offered at medium heat only - was strangely flat. Other blends include Homestyle and Roasted Garlic.
