Central District

Assault: A man was arrested at his home in the 2400 block of Eutaw St. about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday after he tried to choke his girlfriend. She suffered no injury and received no medical attention.

Theft: Someone stole a black laptop computer, worth $2,500, from the Baltimore Convention Center about 2 p.m. yesterday. The computer was taken from a display booth operated by a magazine published in Louisiana.

Drug arrest: A man approached a plainclothes police officer in the 800 block of Whitelock St. about 3 p.m. yesterday and asked him if he had crack cocaine to sell. The officer arrested the suspect, who was dealing crack cocaine.

Northeastern District

Attempted burglary: A man, 37, was arrested yesterday after forcing open the front door of an apartment in the 5900 block of Radecke Ave. about 10:30 a.m. Police responding to an alarm at the building chased and caught a man after they saw him fleeing from the building.

Rape: A man approached a 16-year-old female in the 3100 block of Belair Road about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, dragged her into an alley and raped her.

Eastern District

Shooting: A man leaving a store in the 2300 block of E. Biddle St. was shot by another man who had got out of a car in the parking lot. The victim was hit once in the foot. He was treated and released from the hospital.

Assault: Two men were arguing in the 2300 block of E. Biddle St. about 12:30 a.m. yesterday when one pulled out a .38-caliber handgun and began beating the other on the head. The victim suffered minor lacerations and was treated at the hospital.

Theft: Someone stole a mo-ped from the back yard of a house in the 900 block of Milton Ave. about 2 a.m. yesterday. The vehicle was worth about $1,500.

Western District

Attempted rape: After a woman stopped her car in the 200 block of W. Chase St. about 3 a.m. yesterday, a man entered the vehicle, forced her into the passenger seat and drove the car to an alley. He then produced a gun, removed some of his and the victim's clothing and attempted to rape her. He then drove the car to an ATM machine and tried unsuccessfully to withdraw money with the victim's credit card. After driving to the 1000 block of W. Saratoga St. and attempting to rape the victim again, the suspect fled on foot west on Mulberry Street.

Baltimore County

Garrison Precinct

Automobile theft: Someone stole a 1986 Toyota Camry worth $3,000 from the 3600 block of Brenbrook Drive in Randallstown between 12:30 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. yesterday.

Rape: Two men approached a woman and raped her along a wooded path off the 12000 block of Reisterstown Road about 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered an apartment in the first block of Kinwall Place between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. yesterday and stole a paycheck and Motor Vehicle Administration papers. Occupants found a television and oven on when they returned home.

Arrest: A man suspected in the killing of 22-year-old Kareem Green March 23 in the 100 block of N. Glover St. in Baltimore was arrested Wednesday in Norfolk, Va. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Tavon Blackmon, 21, of the 800 block of N. Port St. in Baltimore about 10 a.m. and charged him with first-degree murder.
