New in fruit stands

The gold kiwi sports a smooth, hairless skin on the outside and yellow fruit flecked with tiny red and black seeds on the inside. But while the appearance is distinctive, the new fruit can be served like its green cousin: by scooping the fruit out with a spoon or by tossing it into salads and desserts.

Simple sauce to savor

Try this simple barbecue sauce from Family Circle: Heat equal amounts of orange juice and brown sugar in a saucepan until sugar melts; season to taste with vinegar and Dijon mustard; spread on pork chops and grill until done.

Drinking for your health

Don't mistake thirst for hunger, Weight Watchers International warns. Make sure your body is fully hydrated to avoid snack attacks.
