New positions

McCormick names Smith divisional vice president

McCormick & Co. Inc. promoted Michael R. Smith to vice president-finance of its flavor, Frito worldwide and global restaurant divisions. He joined the spice maker in 1991 as controller for its Hunt Valley plant. The Forest Hill resident is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. A certified public accountant, Smith is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Kozak, Hopkins join Gilden Advertising

Gilden Advertising hired Stephen Kozak as director of new business development and David A. Hopkins as production designer/mechanical artist. Kozak was formerly with PHH Vehicle Management Services. A Towson resident, he holds an MBA degree from Loyola College. Hopkins, a Baltimore resident, is a graduate of the Maryland Institute, College of Art and formerly was with Doner Direct.

Weinknecht an associate of Warschawski firm

Warschawski Public Relations hired Jil Weinknecht as an associate at the Mount Washington firm. A former account executive for Hosting Ventures Inc., she is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The Ellicott City resident is a student of voice and performs regularly with the New York Repertory Opera Company.

Kohn Creative Solutions names Pyser marketing VP

Kohn Creative Solutions of Owings Mills hired Dave Pyser as vice president of marketing. He is responsible for new business development and implementation of a strategic marketing plan. He formerly was an account executive with the Printing Corp. of America. A graduate of American University, the Owings Mills resident is an avid softball player and is active with the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore.

Trammell Crow Co. retained Joseph A. Callanan as director of its mid-Atlantic investment sales team.Callanan was formerly with Spaulding & Slye.

Nottingham appoints Weed VP for asset management

Nottingham Properties Inc. appointed Peter B. Weed as vice president, asset management. He is responsible for asset management of the Towson development firm's operating properties portfolio and for new commercial property acquisitions. A former vice president for J. P. Morgan Investment Management Group Inc., Weed holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
