Lettice Lee Morton, 81, medical technician

Lettice Lee Morton, a homemaker and former medical technician, died Wednesday of complications of a stroke at the Blakehurst Retirement Community in Towson.

She was 81 and had earlier lived in the Garrison section of Baltimore County.

Born in Washington, the former Lettice Lee Lyon was a member of the Greenwood School's Class of 1935. She graduated from Goucher College in 1939.

Trained in medical technology in Birmingham, Ala., she worked with Dr. Robert Johnson at Children's Hospital in the 1940s. She was also a Johns Hopkins medical technician later in the decade.

A former member of the ladies board of Union Memorial Hospital and the Mount Vernon Club, she had been a member of the Green Spring Valley Hunt Club.

Mrs. Morton was a member of the Baltimore Assembly, a social group, and a volunteer at Garrison Forest School, the Valley School and St. Paul's School. In 1947 she married John Stewart Morton Jr., a retired real estate agent, who survives her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 232 St. Thomas Lane, Garrison, where she was a member and volunteer.

She is also survived by two sons, John Stewart Morton III of Cockeysville and Franklin Lyon Morton of Northfield, Ill.; a daughter, Lettice Lee Rhodes of Knoxville, Tenn.; a brother, Gaylord Clark Lyon of Mobile, Ala.; and three grandchildren.
