Finksburg couple charged in sex assault of mother, girl

Alleged incidents took place in Carroll, Baltimore counties


A Finksburg couple has been charged in the rape and sexual assault of a developmentally disabled woman and her daughter in Carroll and Baltimore counties, court records show.

Stanton Loveless, 49, and his wife, Shirley Loveless, 48, of the 3100 block of Westminster Pike were released from the Carroll County Detention Center in Westminster after both posted $25,000 bond last week.

According to court records, the woman and her child were allegedly raped, sodomized and inappropriately touched in Baltimore County between 1991 and 1994 and at the couple's Carroll County home between 1991 and 1995. The daughter, who also is developmentally disabled, was 11 when the alleged abuse began.

Stanton Loveless, who was arrested Monday, was charged in Carroll with 18 counts of second-degree rape, conspiracy, child abuse, second- and third-degree sex offenses, and second-degree assault.

Shirley Loveless, 48, was charged with 15 counts of child abuse, first- and second-degree rape, conspiracy, second-degree assault, and second- and third-degree sex offenses. She was arrested Wednesday.

The women's names are being withheld to protect their privacy.

In the Baltimore County case, Stanton Loveless faces 36 counts, including attempted rape, perverted practice and sodomy. Shirley Loveless faces 12 counts, including rape, attempted rape and conspiracy.
