A Prince George's County man was killed on his way to a Linthicum party after he lost control of his Harley Davidson "Fat Boy" motorcycle on River Road near West Nursery Road late Sunday, Anne Arundel County police said.

Jeffrey Brammer, 37, of Berwyn Heights was riding west on River Road when he lost control on a curve and slid into the eastbound lanes, colliding head-on with a 1997 Ford Mustang, police said.

Investigators said alcohol appeared to have been a factor in the accident and that Brammer had just left a bar on U.S. 1.

No charges were filed against the driver of the Mustang, police said.

Anne Arundel police also reported that a Calvert County man died Saturday of injuries he suffered in a June 22 accident on Route 4 near Tracys Landing.

Frederick Joseph Downs, 77, of the 3500 block of King Drive in Dunkirk died at Prince George's Hospital Center of injuries suffered when his 1993 Mercury Cougar struck a guardrail and several trees, police said.
