Chamber of Commerce holding monthly luncheon

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly general membership luncheon at noon July 13 at the Carroll County Farm Museum on South Center Street in Westminster.

Lt. Terry Katz, commander of the Maryland State Police barracks in Westminster, will present a program on business-related crime and ways local businesses can get involved in the newly reorganized Carroll County Crime Solvers.

Salerno's will cater the lunch, which costs $15 per person. Reservations are required by Friday.

Connections After Hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 18 at River Downs Golfers' Club in Finksburg. Participants can tour the 18-hole par 72 championship golf course tournament and banquet facilities.

Reservations for Connections are due by July 14.

License commissioners approve 2 alcohol permits

The Board of License Commissioners for Carroll County recently approved alcohol license requests.

Philip Beacham III, Douglas W. Beacham Jr. and Jack Strausman requested a transfer of a Class B beer, wine and liquor license from Gary Burnell Riley at Gary & Dell's Crab House, 2820 Littlestown Pike, near Union Mills.

Michael J. Dunnigan, Ajay Prakash and Sharvan Sawhney requested a Class B beer, wine and liquor license for Casa Rico at 400 N. Center St., Westminster.
