New positions

BGE promotes DeFontes to vice president

Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. promoted of Kenneth W. DeFontes Jr. to vice president of electric transmission and distribution. A 28-year veteran of the company, DeFontes oversees BGE's electric distribution system. Before his promotion, DeFontes was manager of corporate strategy and development for BGE's parent, Constellation Energy Group.

DeFontes earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Swarthmore College and an MBA from Loyola College. He is chairman of the St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation and previously was a board member of the Center for Poverty Solutions.

Reiners and Maycock promoted at McCormick

McCormick & Co. appointed Robert J. Reiners vice president, finance and group support services in its food service division and Virginia A. Maycock as director of Internet marketing applications, U.S. consumer products marketing division.

Reiners, formerly a vice president with Tubed Products Inc., a McCormick subsidiary, is a certified public accountant and earned a master's degree in finance from Loyola College.

Maycock, who joined the company in 1986, is a resident of Bethesda and a member of the American Marketing Association. She holds an MBA in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago.

Brocato, Bradley join Manekin as brokers

Manekin LLC named Vince Brocato and Joseph Bradley to the staff of the Columbia-based commercial realty firm as brokers.

Brocato, formerly with McShea & Co., is a Loyola College graduate and is based in the firm's Baltimore offices. Bradley, who specializes in flex and industrial space, also is a graduate of Loyola College and previously was with James F. Knott Development.


Weinberg Harris promotes Abato to account executive

Weinberg Harris & Associates Inc. promoted Mikey M. Abato to account executive at the Pikesville marketing and public relations agency. She was previously an assistant account manager. The former merchandising manager for Self magazine lives in Canton and is a graduate of the University of Delaware.

Banking and finance

Shymansky is VP at Citizens National

Citizens National Bank hired R. Michael Shymansky as vice president/commercial lending for the Laurel-based affiliate of Mercantile Bankshares Corp. A former vice president of the Frederick-based FCNB Bank, the Annapolis resident is active with the Annapolis Entrepreneurs Exchange Group.
