Officer assaulted/arrest: Officer Denise Gore was holding onto two teen-age girls who were trying to fight with several older females in the 500 block of W. Preston St. about 5 p.m. yesterday when one of the teens struck her face, causing a laceration to her mouth. The girl was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer. The other girl was charged with assaulting one of the older females. Gore was treated at Mercy Medical Center and released.

Theft from vehicle: A cellular phone valued at $200 was stolen Monday from a car in the 400 block of Water St.

Western District

Burglary: Someone entered KFC in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Ave. through the wall of an adjacent vacant building Tuesday and stole an empty cash register, silverware and a 19-inch television, valued at more than $1,700.

Theft: A woman was asleep in her house in the 1000 block of W. Baltimore St. yesterday when another woman removed a diamond ring valued at more than $1,400 from her ring finger. The woman is known to the victim and was being sought.

Northwestern District

Robbery: A woman, 82, was walking in the 6600 block of Eberle Drive about 3 p.m. Tuesday when a man knocked her to the ground and stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $60. The woman was not injured, and no arrest was made.

Robbery: Police were seeking a man known as "Man" who robbed another man, 22, of $70 at gunpoint in the 3500 block of W. Garrison Ave. about 2 p.m. Tuesday. Police said the money taken from the victim was reportedly owed to the suspect's brother.

Baltimore County

Parkville Precinct

Robbery: A woman, 76, was leaving a medical building in the 9700 block of Blear Road about 3:30 p.m. yesterday when a woman wearing a black coat and black hat stole her purse containing a small sum of money. Officer Brendan Barton said that the victim was not injured and that the suspect fled on foot and had not been arrested.

White Marsh Precinct

Theft/arrest: A man was arrested Tuesday when he tried to leave Hecht's at White Marsh Mall without paying for linens and towels, all valued at nearly $200. The man, 29, from the 1400 block of McCulloh St. in Baltimore, was charged with theft and processed at the police precinct.

Theft/arrest: A woman, 22, from East Baltimore, was arrested Tuesday when she tried to leave Macy's at White Marsh Mall without paying for clothing and a purse, all valued at nearly $300.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 1600 block of Hicks Road in White Hall through a sliding glass door Tuesday and stole a wallet containing cash and credit cards, all valued at $90.

Woodlawn Precinct

Robbery: A man, 26, from Northwest Baltimore, was in the 3500 block of Rolling Road about 2:20 a.m. Tuesday when several teen-age males, one with a silver-colored handgun, robbed him of $20 and a cellular phone.
