The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

White Acre Road: 9600 block, Oakland Mills. Officers responding to a complaint about alcohol violations about 5 p.m. Saturday pursued a suspect who threw a bag on the ground. The suspect was arrested after the foot chase, and the bag was found to have contained crack cocaine packaged for sale and distribution. Police said Jonathan Antwan Lockett, 22, of the 5600 block Stevens Forest Road, was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Sweetwind Place: 5700 block, Long Reach. Intruders entered a home about 4:40 a.m. June 13 and took a folding knife and jewelry. Police responding to an attempted break-in in the 5700 block of Yellow Rose Place about 9:20 a.m. June 13 arrested a 14-year-old Columbia youth and a 16-year-old Bowie youth. On one of the boys, police found the jewelry that had been taken from Sweetwind Place. The folding knife was recovered nearby. The youths were charged with attempted burglary, burglary and felony theft.

West Columbia

Hildebrand Court: 5400 block, Harper's Choice. Someone entered a home through the front door and took a stereo between midnight and 2 a.m. Saturday.

Hildebrand Court: 5400 block, Harper's Choice. Someone entered the home through a sliding door and took electronic equipment between 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday.

Columbia Road: 4600 block, Dorsey Search. Someone pried the lock off the office door at Dorsey Search Pool and took money between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Cedar Lane: 6300 block, Wilde Lake. A 30-year-old Columbia man was struck from behind and knocked unconscious by two youths as he walked to work between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. The assailants took money, a cell phone and pager from the victim, who refused medical treatment.

Charter Drive: 10700 block, Hickory Ridge. Someone entered the Victoria and Albert Hair Studio between 6:30 p.m. June 12 and 7 a.m. June 13 and took a safe containing money.

Hickory Ridge Road: 10700 block, Hickory Ridge. Someone approached an 18-year-old man from Columbia on a parking lot about 12:30 a.m. Thursday and demanded money. The youth who demanded money was joined by two other youths. The victim handed over money, and the three fled in a purple Geo Metro with dents on the driver's side.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Baltimore National Pike: 8400 block, Ellicott City. Someone entered Mail Boxes Etc. between 7 p.m. June 12 and 8:55 a.m. June 13 and took a cash box, currency and postage stamps.

Washington Boulevard: 6200 block, Elkridge. Police said officers investigating a drug distribution ring arrested Liston Gary Noble III, 29, of the 300 block N. Pulaski St., Baltimore, on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia about 5 p.m. Friday. About a quarter-pound of crack cocaine and a vehicle were seized.
