Angels update

Anaheim has been spinning its wheels of late, splitting its previous 10 games before last night. The Angels have been tough to finish off, with 10 victories in their final at-bat before last night, and 16 come-from-behind wins. They've overcome deficits of three runs or more 12 times, including twice to defeat the Orioles on May 17. They've also grown fond of the long ball. The Angels have hit four or more homers in seven games this season, two short of the club record set in 1995. Anaheim began last night with 100 homers, five behind Toronto for the AL lead. The Angels led the league in batting with a .291 average. The Orioles lost two of three to Anaheim in early May at Camden Yards - the lone win coming when they scored twice in the ninth off closer Troy Percival - and split two in Anaheim later in the month. Schoenweis has made two starts in the series, allowing 10 earned runs and 16 hits in 13 2/3 innings. Brady Anderson hit a two-run homer off him May 2. The Angels battered Mussina in an 8-5 victory on May 4, collecting six runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings.
