Boat passenger's body found; companion missing

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - The body of a 28-year-old Frederick County man was recovered yesterday in the Potomac River near Harpers Ferry.

Three men were fishing about 5 p.m. Friday when their boat overturned in Washington County. Boat owner Dale Ewell France, of the 200 block of Sycamore Road in Mount Airy, swam to shore, but his two passengers never surfaced.

The body of Ervin Ray, of the 10000 block of Bethel Road, was recovered about 10 a.m. yesterday. Jeffrey L. Snow, of an unknown address, was missing last night.

Keymar girl, 14, injured in bicycling accident

KEYMAR - A 14-year-old girl tumbled down a 60- to 70-foot embankment about 11 a.m. yesterday [mbo: : June10 ]-NT after her bicycle struck the Legore Bridge in Keymar.

Desiree N. Thompson of Keymar was in fair condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Murder-suicide suspected in couple's deaths

LIBERTYTOWN - A Frederick County woman died yesterday after her husband apparently shot her Friday night and then turned the gun on himself, said Sgt. Al Caho, a spokesman for the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

Dennis E. Green, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene. Cathy E. Green, 41, died yesterday.

In Harford County

Sailboat burns, explodes after hitting power line

BUSH RIVER - A sailboat exploded about 5 p.m. yesterday on the Bush River near Edgewood when it struck an overhead power line, briefly knocking out power to 9,500. No one was aboard the boat.
