City plans to open closed JFX today for Orioles traffic

June 11, 2000|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A section of Interstate 83, which has been closed most of this weekend for demolition work on the Charles Street bridge, will be reopened temporarily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.

City officials will reopen southbound lanes of the Jones Falls Expressway between North Avenue and Eager Street during those hours to accommodate traffic for the Orioles game. Afterward, the lanes will be closed again until 5 a.m. tomorrow.

The Charles Street bridge is being rebuilt as part of a two-year, $23 million construction project.
