Area schools and literacy programs seek volunteers to help children and adults to improve reading skills and to assist in related projects. Among them are:
George Washington School, 800 Scott St., Baltimore, for tutoring second- and fourth-grade pupils in reading during summer school June 26 through July 28. Hours are 7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Contact: Principal Florence Johnson, 410- 396-1445.
