A 38-year-old Westminster man was ordered held on $50,000 bail after being arrested Friday on charges of sexually abusing a boy over the past six years, court documents show.

Sterling Arie Robertson of the first block of Webster St. is accused of child abuse, sodomy, second- and third-degree sexual offenses and perverted practices, court documents show.

The alleged offenses began about Jan. 1, 1994, when the boy was 8 years old, and continued at multiple locations in Carroll County until last week, investigators from the Carroll County Child Abuse Sexual Assault unit said in charging documents.

Court records show Robertson was sentenced to one year in jail in 1991 after he was found guilty of perverted practice and second-degree sexual offense.
