Three youths captured after escape from school Sunday

May 31, 2000

Three youths who ran away from Bowling Brook School northwest of Union Bridge on Sunday have been caught, state police said yesterday.

Two juveniles were caught Sunday and an 18-year-old was arrested Monday, authorities said.

Bowling Brook is a private, nonprofit school for boys between 16 and 19 years old who are serving time in the juvenile justice system.

The 18-year-old, Keith Lamont Manghan of Pittsburgh, was charged in the theft of a farm truck in the 6400 block of Middleburg Road sometime between his Sunday escape and his capture early Monday, court records show.

He posted $2,500 bail and was rearrested on probation violation charges stemming from Sunday's escape. He is being held at a Baltimore County detention center for juveniles.
