A car belonging to a Washington Post copy editor who has been missing from her Bethesda home since Tuesday was found abandoned Friday in Glen Echo near the C&O Canal.

Montgomery County police said Alison Thresher's 1997 Volvo station wagon was discovered near the intersection of Broad Street and Ridge Road.

Thresher, 45, was reported missing on Thursday after she failed to show up for her job as a copy editor on the Post's national desk.

Montgomery County police said family members last saw Thresher on Tuesday evening.

Thresher is described as white, 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 110 pounds, with light brown shoulder-length hair and blue eyes.
