An 18-year-old Montgomery County high school student was killed and his two female passengers injured when their speeding Toyota Corolla ran off Route 94 near the Howard-Montgomery County line and crashed into a tree yesterday, Howard County police said.

All three teen-agers were students at Damascus High School.

Police said the 1988 vehicle crashed at 10:43 a.m. while traveling south at high speed toward Montgomery County.

The driver, Ryan Weldon Pestun of Damascus, was ejected from the car and declared dead at the scene.

Police said Alexia Terrar and Jennifer Pletcher, both 17 and Gaithersburg residents, were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where they were listed in critical condition.
