Major League Baseball: Suspended Mariners IF Mark McLemore five games and fined him undisclosed amount for on-field altercation in May 20 game vs. Devil Rays.

Blue Jays: P Eric Gunderson cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse.

Braves: Activated OF Reggie Sanders. Optioned IF Steve Sisco to Triple-A Richmond.

Cubs: Purchased contract of OF Raoul Gonzalez from Triple-A Iowa.

Devil Rays: Activated P Jim Mecir from 15-day DL. Optioned P Cory Lidle to Triple-A Durham.

Diamondbacks: Optioned IF Danny Klassen to Triple-A Tucson.

Marlins: Transferred IF David Paulino to extended spring training. Re-assigned IFDrew Niles to Single-A Kane County.

Phillies: Called up IF-OF Pat Burrell from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Rangers: Recalled OF Gabe Kapler from Oklahoma of the PCL. Twins: Claimed 3B Casey Blake off waivers from Blue Jays.

White Sox: Activated C Brook Fordyce from the 15-day DL; recalled P Kip Wells from Triple-A Charlotte. Optioned C Josh Paul to Charlotte. Designated P Tanyon Sturtze for assignment.


Monarchs (WNBA): Waived C Heather Quella and F Jess Zinobile.
