MTA officer honored for exemplary service in tunnel command

Columbia resident Jeffrey M. Young, police officer for the Maryland Transportation Authority, has been honored for outstanding law enforcement services in the tunnel command.

The command includes the Fort McHenry and Baltimore Harbor tunnels. Young also received awards for leading the tunnel command and the department in seat-belt and child-safety-seat violations during the 1999 Maryland Chiefs' Challenge.

Lundblad takes over as new Amerix COO

The Columbia-based Amerix Corp., a service provider to the credit counseling industry, has named Don Lundblad chief operating officer of the corporate services group.

Lundblad will oversee operations, human resources, accounting and finance, and training.

Marriner Marketing announces promotions

Columbia-based MarrinerMarketing Communications has appointed Bill Mitchellits creative director. Mitchell's background is in broadcast advertising.

Mitchell's background is in television and broadcast advertising.

The firm has also named Daniel Vong director of design development. Vong will oversee graphics output.

Community college chief is top business educator

Mary Ellen Duncan, president of Howard Community College, was named a top business educator in the Baltimore Business Journal's "Who's Who in Higher Business Education." The April article identified 25 key people in the Greater Baltimore area.
