Owners of the Pack Shack, the adult book and video store on U.S. 40 West in Ellicott City will appeal a judge's order that the store close by June 2, said Howard J. Schulman,their attorney."I believe we have meritorious appellate points," Schulman said, adding that appeals courts are often solicitous of First Amendment issues.
In a May 2 ruling, Howard County Circuit Judge James B. Dudley ordered the store closed by June 2.
That ruling also upheld a county law that limits the location of such stores, requiring that they be a certain distance from homes, schools, public buildings and other adult businesses.
