City police investigate fatal shooting of man

LANSDOWNE -- Baltimore County police are investigating the death yesterday morning of a Lochearn man who was found with a gunshot wound to his head while his car drifted over the city line.

Shelton Jermaine Durrell, 21, of the 6400 block of Liberty Road was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers patrolling the area heard gunshots about 3: 05 a.m. and within minutes found the car rolling along the 3200 block of Washington Blvd. toward Morrell Park and Lakeland in the city, a police spokesman said.

Police said they knew of no motive or suspects in the case.

FOR THE RECORD - In an article in Sunday's Maryland section, a homicide victim, Jermaine Durrell Shelton, 21, of the 6400 block of Liberty Road in Lochearn, Baltimore County, was incorrectly identified. The headline on the same article misidentified the law enforcement agency investigating the crime. Baltimore County police are investigating. The Sun regrets the error.
