Liberty, South Carroll ADs step down

High Schools

May 13, 2000|By FROM STAFF REPORTS

Eager to spend more time coaching football and enjoying life with their families, Ken Johnson of Liberty and Gene Brown of South Carroll have stepped down as athletic directors at their respective schools.

Both men, who spend their falls coaching football, said they felt that their football and teaching duties required more attention than they could offer if they continued to be their schools' athletic directors.

Brown, who has been South Carroll's football coach for the past eight years, resigned after three years as the athletic director. Johnson, who has been Liberty football coach and athletic director since he arrived at the school in 1994, was an athletic director at Chesapeake of Baltimore County.
