Mariners: Recalled P Kevin Hodges from Triple-A Tacoma. Optioned IF-OF Charles Gipson to Tacoma.

Marlins: Purchased the contracts of P Jason Grillie and P Joe Strong from Triple-A Calgary. Placed P Ricky Bones on 15-day DL, retroactive to May 6, with a strained lower back. Placed OF Mark Smith on 15-day DL with strained right elbow.

Padres: Placed P Rodney Myers on 15-day DL.

Phillies: Purchased contract of 1B Chris Pritchett from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Washington Mystics (WNBA): Waived G Itoro Umoh-Coleman, F Roshonda Reed and C Denique Graves.

ACC: Named Maryland's Keith Unikel to the All-Conference golf team.
