Service set in Columbia for teen killed in car wreck

May 10, 2000

A memorial service for Centennial High School student Timothy N. Brierley will be held at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church, 6410 Amherst Ave., Columbia.

A reception will follow.

Brierley, 17, of Clubhouse Court in Ellicott City, was killed Sunday when he apparently lost control of his car and crashed on Meadowbrook Lane in Columbia.

Teachers and family members said he was a smart, funny teen-ager who loved the outdoors and had a bright future in computer programming.

Although he would have been a senior at Centennial High this fall, he was scheduled to attend the University of Maryland, Baltimore County on a full academic scholarship.

He had attended the Centennial High prom Saturday night.

The youth had celebrated his birthday May 1.
