2 killed in unrelated shootings

An 18-year-old East Baltimore man died after he was shot in the neck early yesterday.

Kevin Harris of the 4100 block of Mary Ave. was shot by an unidentified assailant about 12: 50 a.m. in the 900 block of Sterling St.

He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1: 37 a.m.

In a separate incident, a 19-year-old West Baltimore man died of gunshot wounds suffered in a shooting Saturday morning.

Donnell Tate of the 1800 block of Edmondson Ave. was shot in the abdomen and hand about 2: 30 a.m. in the 1000 block of N. Fulton Ave.

He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10: 15 a.m.

Police said they had not identified a suspect or motive in either case.

The two deaths marked the 108th and 109th homicides in the city this year. Last year, there had been 78 homicides as of midnight May 8.
