Blue Jays update

The fourth-place Blue Jays' pitching was dented badly during a four-game series against Cleveland that included an 11-10 win and yesterday's 12-inning, 10-8 loss. Even before yesterday, Blue Jays starters carried a 5.80 ERA and their bullpen a 6.80 ERA. Their league-worst 6.14 ERA was built upon a .304 opponents batting average, 25 points higher than the league average. Their rotation will be juggled for this series as Painter comes out of the bullpen to start for Roy Halladay on Wednesday. The Blue Jays have been a far more dangerous hitting team at SkyDome. They set an April club record with 43 home runs. No team tormented the Orioles last season more than the Blue Jays, who captured the season series, 11-1, including 10 straight to end the year. Of the 11 losses, five came by one run and one by two runs. The Orioles are 1-11 at SkyDome the past two seasons.
