Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Central District

Assaults/arrest: A man attacked two women, one 20 and the other 69, striking them with his fists about 3: 10 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of N. Calvert St. A U.S. General Services Administration officer assigned to the Social Security Administration office across the street arrested the man. The women were treated for minor injuries at Mercy Medical Center. Frank Mahlmann, 43, of no fixed address was charged with assault.

Eastern District

Bank robbery try: A man who implied he had a handgun tried to rob Bank of America in the 1800 block of E. North Ave. about 9: 45 a.m. Monday. After forcing a loan officer to write "$10,000" on a piece of paper and threatening to shoot the manager, the man fled when the alarm sounded.

Shooting: A man, 22, was in the 1500 block of Aisquith St. about 8 p.m. Monday when he heard a gunshot and felt pain in the upper right leg. He suffered a bullet wound and was in good condition yesterday at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Southwestern District

Robbery: A gunman robbed a man, 33, of $14 in the 100 block of S. Culver St. about 7: 30 p.m. Monday.

Theft: A 40-foot trailer containing 43 new sofas of unknown value was stolen April 26 in the 2000 block of Inverness Ave. The theft was reported Monday.

Northwestern District

Shooting: A gunman shot a man, 19, in the upper right leg in the 4800 block of Liberty Road about 11 p.m. Saturday. The victim was treated at Sinai Hospital.

Baltimore County

Cockeysville Precinct

Theft: Police and officials at Nationwide Kia in the 1600 block of York Road are investigating the April 6 theft of a $2,800 down payment for a car. The incident was reported Monday.

Burglary: Three handguns, 1,000 rounds of ammunition and other property, all valued at more than $1,500, were stolen Monday from a house in the 1100 block of Lower Glencoe Road.

Woodlawn Precinct

Theft: A woman caring for another woman, whose husband was in the hospital, is suspected of stealing more than $16,000 in cash and jewelry April 8. The husband reported the theft Monday after he returned to his home in the first block of Hobart Court.

Parkville Precinct

Theft: An air conditioner and a mirror, all valued at nearly $400, were stolen from a house in the 9200 block of Avondale Road between Saturday and Monday. To gain entry, the thief broke down the front door, valued at $1,500, destroying it.
