Centennial High student honored for artwork

April 27, 2000

An Ellicott City student was honored yesterday at Government House in Annapolis as part of a national arts search.

Rachel W. Foran, an 18-year-old senior at Centennial High School, was one of 28 young artists recognized at a private reception and ceremony, with Maryland first lady Frances Hughes Glendening as host.

The event was held to honor those chosen from a national pool of 7,500 applicants to ARTS 2000.

ARTS 2000 seeks to identify and assist emerging young artists.
