White Sox update

For the first time this season the Orioles encounter a hot club. The surprising White Sox have started the season as the American League's enforcers. Not only did they sweep the Detroit Tigers three games this weekend for the first time since 1994, they engaged them in two brawls Saturday afternoon. The 12-6 AL Central leaders haven't just beaten opponents, they've crushed them. Only five of their 18 games have been decided by fewer than four runs. This is heady stuff for a team that entered yesterday with a 5.36 ERA from their rotation and, with an average age of 26.8 years, the youngest roster in the American League. The White Sox lead the league in batting average and runs while ranking second in slugging percentage. The Orioles won seven of 10 from the Sox last season.
