Today's games

ACC tournament final

No. 1 Virginia (9-1) at No. 9 Maryland (8-3)

Site: Byrd Stadium, College Park

Time: 3: 30 p.m.

TV/Radio: HTS/WMUC (88.1 FM)

Skinny: Virginia's defense looked ordinary in its double-overtime semifinal victory over North Carolina. The Terps must execute the same great defense, ball-control offense and nearly penalty-free play they showed in their semifinal victory to have a chance against a Virginia team loaded with offensive weapons like Drew McKnight, Conor Gill and Jay Jalbert. Maryland also can't afford any scoring droughts like they suffered in their 11-6 loss to the Cavs last month.

Towson (3-7) at Hartford (11-1)

Site: Al Marzook Field, Hartford, Conn.

Time: 1 p.m.

Skinny: By beating Vermont on Friday, the Tigers are assured of the fourth seed in the America East tournament, which begins on May 4 and will send an automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament. Beating Hartford, the third-best team in the conference which has lost only to Hofstra, will be tough. Hartford has two of the nation's most prolific scorers in Tracey Kelusky and Brian LaMastro.
