Biking

April 30: College Park Area Bicycle Coalition sponors its 12th annual spring ride, starting at 9 a.m. from REI College Park on Rhode Island Avenue. Tour covers two loops of 12-15 miles, and will be accompanied by police officers on bicycles. REI technicians will provide safety checks. Call 301-982-9681.

Birding

April 29: Carroll County Bird Club walk at the McKeldin area of Patapsco State Park, to look for spring warblers. Meet 7 a.m. in the parking lot on the west side of Marriottsville Road, just south of the bridge over the Patapsco. Information, 410-549-3598.
