Lila Kedrova Howard, who won an Oscar and a Tony for her role as Madame Hortense in the film and stage versions of "Zorba the Greek," died Feb. 16 in Ontario of heart failure. She was in her 80s.

Known professionally as Lila Kedrova, she won the Academy Award for best supporting actress in 1964 for her portrayal of the dying French prostitute. The film featured Anthony Quinn, Alan Bates and Irene Papas.

Stella C. Koerner, 84, Wheeling, W.Va.'s first female mayor from 1986 through 1988, died Monday.
