Name of book club and member being interviewed: The Second Wednesday Book Club, Nancy Berla.

Which book are members reading this month? For April, we are reading "Till We Have Faces" by C. S. Lewis.

Which books have members liked? "Time, Love, Memory" by Jonathan Weiner; and "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver.

How often does the club meet? Once a month, on the second Wednesday, alternating among homes of club members.

How many belong to the club? There are 20 members.

When was the club formed? 1980.

Do you have any advice for other book clubs? "We like the way we do it, but it's not the only way. We choose our books once a year and then someone volunteers to be the leader. The person who's leader can do what they want, more or less. It seems to work pretty smoothly."

The Howard County Live section regularly spotlights the activities of book clubs. If your club wants to participate, call Maureen Conners at 410-715-2821 or Lisa Respers at 410-715-2832.
