Eddie McKinnon scored three goals and added three assists yesterday as No. 10-ranked Navy beat host Mount St. Mary's, 13-5, in a non-conference men's lacrosse game.

The loss ended the Mount's seven-game winning streak, the school's longest in 16 years.

The Mountaineers (7-6) had hoped to slow the tempo of the game in the muddy conditions, but were forced to play from behind for the final 3 1/2 quarters, which allowed the Midshipmen (8-3) to pick up the pace.

Bryan Cole gave the Mount its only lead, 1-0, a minute into the first quarter, but Navy's Mike Sheedy tied the game 51 seconds later to begin the Mids' dominance. They led 6-2 at halftime and 10-3 after three quarters.

McKinnon scored all of his goals and two of his assists in the first half. Sheedy and Kelly Nash had two goals each for Navy.

Matt Downs led the Mountaineers with three goals.
