April 18, 2000|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A man was fatally shot yesterday minutes after leaving his girlfriend's home in Reservoir Hill, police said.

Timothy J. Toland, 23, of the 2100 block of McCulloh St. was seated in his 1997 Ford Expedition in the 2200 block of Eutaw Place at 6: 23 p.m. when an unknown gunman shot him twice in the head, said Detective Lynette Nevins. Toland died at 6: 44 p.m. at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Toland's girlfriend looked out her front window and saw a man standing next to his vehicle but did not see the shooting, Nevins said.

Police had no suspect and knew of no motive for the shooting.
