Birding

Next Sunday: Look for the king rail during day trip to Huntley Meadows in Virginia by the Carroll County Bird Club. Bring lunch. Meet 7 a.m. at Park and Ride lot, Route 32 and I-70. Call 410-795-3117.

Children

Saturday: Eco-Fest Earth Day celebration at Patapsco Valley State Park, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fishing derby, hay rides, bird walks, nature hikes and a "globe hunt" will be held. Most events are free.

Saturday: A tournament for young anglers will be conducted by Pasadena Sportsfishing Group from 8: 30 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m. at Lake Waterford Park, Pasadena. Casting, fly tying, rigging, and knot tying workshops will be held. Free hot dogs and soda for participants. Call 410-HEYFISH.

Shooting

April 29-30: Ladies Charity Classic clays tournament, sponsored by the Women's Shooting Sports Foundation, 9 a.m., Prince George's Trap and Skeet Center, Glen Dale.
