Starting May 1, transit vouchers to provide free trips for job seekers

A new transit voucher program will be launched May 1 to help individuals entering the work force in Howard County receive free trips on Howard Area Transit Service fixed bus routes.

The program will provide vouchers for free bus trips to interviews, pre-employment tests and related activities, plus free transportation for up to six months once a person becomes employed.

The program is made possible through grant funds from the Howard County Office of Housing and Community Development.
