Child care center hearing is tomorrow

April 12, 2000|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

The Howard County Board of Appeals will hold a hearing tomorrow on a proposed child care center that, if approved, would be one of the largest in the county.

The Florida-based Tutor Time Learning Systems Inc. wants to build a 10,466-square-foot facility on 2 1/2 acres in the northwest corner of Old Frederick Road and Rogers Avenue in Ellicott City. The county Planning Board voted in October to recommend rejection of the plan, and the appeals board postponed a hearing in February after 150 residents showed up to protest the center.

The appeals board will meet at 7: 30 p.m. in the George Howard Building's Banneker Room. Members could make a decision tomorrow night.
