Bowie's Moss is MVP

Bowie State guard Tiffany Moss scored 24 points on 8-for-9 shooting to lead the North to a 93-75 victory over the South in the women's Black College All-Star Game yesterday at Morgan State's Hill Field House.

The North All-Stars consisted of players from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The South All-Stars featured players from the South Inter-Collegiate Athletic Conference and the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Moss, the CIAA Player of the Year, was named the game's MVP. She scored 20 of her 24 points in the first half as the North led 47-36.

"It was a goal for me to make it here," Moss said. "My goal was not to be MVP, but I wanted to play well."

Coppin State guard Leisha Mitchell finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. D'Shawn Watts, a guard from Bethune-Cookman, put the South away with 17 second-half points.

The coaches for the game were WNBA players Vickie Johnson for the South and Kisha Ford (Bryn Mawr) for the North.
