Bureau of the Census seeks employees

Tests will be administered at many county locations

The Bureau of the Census is administering tests to prospective census takers, crew leaders and office clerks for the 2000 Census weekdays and some Saturdays around the county.

The bureau needs workers to ensure that everyone is counted in the 2000 Census in Carroll County.

Census employees work in their own communities, set their hours and can be reimbursed for authorized expenses. Wages are competitive.

Although appointments to take the Census test are recommended, walk-ins are welcome. Those taking the test should bring two forms of identification.

Tests will be given as follows:

Every Monday at 2 p.m. through April at Maryland Job Service, 125 Airport Drive, Westminster.

Every Monday at 10 a.m. through April, and Thursdays at 7 p.m. April 20 and 2 p.m. April 13 and 27 at New Windsor Presbyterian Church, High and Church streets.

Every Monday at 6 p.m. and every Wednesday at 10 a.m. through April, and at 2 p.m. Saturdays April 15 and 22 in the community room at Carrolltown Center, Liberty Road, Eldersburg.

Mondays at 2 p.m. April 17 and 24, Tuesdays at 3 p.m. April 18 and 25, Thursdays at 6 p.m. April 20 and 27, Fridays at 4 p.m. April 14 and 28, and Saturdays at 2 p.m. April 15, 22 and 29 at Mount Airy branch library, 705 Ridge Ave.

Every Tuesday at 9 a.m. through April at the Department of Social Services, 10 Distillery Drive, Westminster.

Every Tuesday at 5 p.m. and every Thursday at 9 a.m. through April at the Business and Employment Resource Center, 224 N. Center St., Westminster.

Every Tuesday at 10 a.m. through April at Union Bridge Town Hall, 104 W. Locust St.

Every Tuesday at 2 p.m. through April and May 2, 9 and 16 at Hampstead Town Hall, 1034 S. Carroll St.

Tuesdays at 1 p.m. April 11, 18 and 25 at Sykesville Town Hall, 7547 Main St.

Tuesdays at 1 p.m. April 11, 18 and 25 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 3939 Gamber Road.

Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. through April and May 3, 10, 17 and 24 at Manchester Town Hall, 3208 York St.

Every Wednesday at 1 p.m. through April and at 10 a.m. Fridays April 21 and 28 at St. Mary's Lutheran Church, 3978 Littlestown Pike, Silver Run.

Every Wednesday at 6 p.m. through April at South Carroll Senior Center, 5745 Bartholow Road, Eldersburg.

Wednesdays at 2 p.m. April 19 and 26 at Westminster branch library, 50 E. Main St.

Every Wednesday at 6 p.m. through April and May 3, 10, 17 and 24 at North Carroll High School cafeteria, 1400 Panther Drive, Hampstead.

Thursdays at 1 p.m. April 13, 20, 27 at Eldersburg branch library, 6400 W. Hemlock Drive.

Every Friday at 9 a.m. through April and May at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1371 N. Main St., Hampstead.

Every Friday at 10 a.m. through April at Sandy Mount United Methodist Church, 2101 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg.

Tuesdays at 6 p.m. April 11 and 25 and Thursday at 6 p.m. April 20 at the North Carroll branch library, 2255 Hanover Pike.

Friday at 10 a.m. April 14, Tuesdays at 2 p.m. April 18 and 25, and Saturday at 10 a.m. April 22 at Taneytown branch library, 10 Grand Drive.

Fridays at 10 a.m. April 14 and 28 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg.
