April 07, 2000|By FROM STAFF REPORTS

An unidentified man was killed and five others were injured early this morning when a Honda Accord was stuck by a Buick Century in Baltimore's Charles Village neighborhood.

The injured were taken by ambulance to hospitals and the deceased -- an African-American male believed to be in his early 20s who was driving the Honda -- was declared dead at the scene of the 12: 20 a.m. crash, police said.

Police said the Honda was traveling north on Guilford Avenue when the Buick, headed west on East 29th Street, hit the Accord on the passenger side.

After hitting the Honda, the Buick careened into two parked cars on 29th Street, police said. They said the traffic light facing the Buick at the intersection was flashing red at the time of the crash.

A female passenger in the Honda and four passengers in the Buick were rushed to a hospital.

Police released no identities last night.
