Indians update

They have a new manager in place and the same old expectations. The Indians are the overwhelming preseason favorites to win their sixth consecutive AL Central title, and are being picked by some "experts" to unseat the New York Yankees as league champions. The Indians won nine of 10 games against the Orioles last summer, including three of four at Camden Yards. They'll have center fielder Kenny Lofton available for this series, which wasn't expected when spring training began. His recovery from shoulder surgery has gone faster than projected, giving the club a disruptive force at the top of a lineup that's imposing enough without him. Finley was signed to become the No. 1 starter the Indians have been seeking for years, but Colon pitched so well this spring that he's inherited the role. The Indians have been abusive to Ponson, who was 0-3 with a 13.17 ERA against them last season, and 0-4 with a 10.87 ERA in six career games. Cleveland's bullpen includes former Oriole Scott Kamieniecki, who signed as a free agent.
