S. Carroll's Kesler qualifies for trials

Dan Kesler, a senior at South Carroll High School representing the Green Terror Aquatic Club at the Southeastern Junior Championships in Orlando, Fla., qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in swimming with his fourth place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

Kesler beat the cut time by nine-tenths of a second with a clocking of 15 minutes, 34.09 seconds. He will be competing for a berth on the Olympic team in August when the top swimmers in the country vie for two spots per event at trials held in Indianapolis.

Kesler also finished seventh in the 500-yard freestyle, but did not qualify for trials.
