Meet the author of `Lily's Crossing'

"I knew I wanted to write from the first time I picked up a book and read," Patricia Reilly Giff told her publishers at Random House. "I thought it must be the most marvelous thing to make people dance across the pages." As the author of more than 60 children's books (including the 1998 Newbery Honor award winner "Lily's Crossing," about a 10-year-old girl's overactive imagination during World War II), Giff has choreographed stories for dozens of characters. Meet her at the Towson Library on Tuesday at 7 p.m., where she'll read excerpts from her books and talk about her writing. Pick up free tickets from your local Baltimore County library. Towson Library, 320 York Road, 410-887-6166.
