Andrew Murray

Centennial, boys lacrosse

The senior midfielder played a dominant role in the Eagles' 14-4 season-opening win against Howard County rival Long Reach. His two goals and six assists were only part of his strong all-around performance. Murray also won nine of 10 faceoffs and came up with 14 ground balls to key Centennial's possession game.

Sarah Galloway

IND, softball

The junior put in a blue-collar effort last week on the mound to get the Indians off to a 3-0 start. She pitched a no-hitter in a 2-1 win over No. 14 Mount de Sales, threw 11 shutout innings to knock off No. 8 Seton Keough, 1-0, and also defeated Bryn Mawr, 7-1. In 25 innings, she didn't allow an earned run, striking out 24 and allowing just nine hits.
